Often I’ll read something like this, Parsing Math Expressions, and I’ll think, I am never going to use this.

But as I read through this, I started thinking about the expressions I write that live outside my code. I create expressions for rhythm, literals for pitch, and types for tempo. It’s not much of a stretch to imagine music based expressions to combine these things.

Now I’m kind of excited about the idea of a musical expression parser…
